“On Tuesday, Rosenthal joined the National Center for the Access to Justice at a press conference in New York to launch the Justice Index, an online tool that compares levels of access to justice in state legal systems across the country.
The project’s interactive map shows disparities in such things as the number of attorneys who serve poor people, levels of access for people with disabilities, availability of help for those whose English is limited and amount of support for people who do not have lawyers. While many individual legal indexes exist, this is believed to be the first that measures the quality of access to justice nationwide.”
