On August 24, 2007, Corporate Pro Bono (CPBO), a national partnership project of the Association of Corporate Counsel and the Pro Bono Institute, hosted its second Onsite Pro Bono Clinic – also known as Clinic in a Box℠ – in Denver, Colorado.  Co-sponsored by the Colorado Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel, Hogan & Hartson LLP, the Community Resource Center, and the Colorado Lawyers Committee, the Clinic attracted twenty-six volunteer attorneys, and it was extremely successful in helping to resolve the legal issues of fourteen Denver area nonprofit organizations.

The volunteer participants represented thirteen corporate legal departments, including Alta Colleges, Inc., Avago Technologies, BAX Global Inc., CoBank, ACB, The Gates Corporation, I H S, IKON Professional Services, Lockheed Martin Mission Services and Lockheed Martin Space Systems Co., Qwest Communications, Inc., Sure Thing Entertainment, TIAA-CREF, and Western Pacific Energy LLC.  Non-profit organizations working on issues as varied as AIDS, the environment, affordable housing, immigration, child advocacy, women’s leadership, and providing media assistance to other non-profits were helped.  These organizations received pro bono legal services related to issues of corporate governance, fundraising, and taxes, enabling them to devote more of their limited resources to providing services.
