Corporate Pro Bono Challenge℠ Signatories Recognized for Commitment to Pro Bono

Pro bono service, and the presence of a visible pro bono program, has become an increasingly important factor in identifying and recognizing great companies.  It was recently announced that Microsoft Corporation, a Corporate Pro Bono (CPBO) Challenge℠ Signatory, received the Best Legal Department Award from Corporate Counsel.  Among the key criteria for the award is a demonstrated commitment to pro bono.

Corporate Counsel considered several other companies for this award this year – including the Hewlett-Packard Company, The Williams Companies, Aetna Inc., United Parcel Service, Inc., and UnitedHealth Group Incorporated – all known for their formal pro bono programs, their dedication to innovative pro bono, and Signatories to the CPBO Challenge℠.

Congratulations to all of these companies.  To read Corporate Counsel’s article, “Best Legal Department 2010: And the Winner is…Microsoft,” click here.
