Insurance for In-House Pro Bono

The PBEye
September 10, 2012

On September 18, at 12:30 p.m. EDT, PBI and CPBO are hosting a webinar “In-house Pro Bono: Professional Liability Insurance.”  This webinar will explore the insurance options available to in-house counsel for liability coverage associated with providing pro bono legal services. In-house pro bono has grown dramatically in recent years, but obstacles, both real and perceived, still exist, including addressing access to professional liability insurance. While claims related to pro bono are rare, it is a concern to many in-house volunteers and their employers. There are several options for legal departments to address professional liability, which will be discussed in detail by our esteemed speakers:

  • Susan Friedman – Senior Vice President, Marsh USA Inc.**
  • Kevin Horsted – Vice President, NLADA Insurance Program
  • Mike Sposato – Deputy General Counsel, Caterpillar Inc.**
  • Sara Woods – Executive Director, Philadelphia VIP
  • Andrea Wysocki – Assistant Vice President and Employed Lawyers Professional Liability Product Manager, Chubb Specialty Insurance

Please join us to learn more about this often misunderstood issue and discover how to select an option that is right for your pro bono program and organization.  It will be particularly useful for pro bono program leaders at legal departments and ACC Chapters, as well as risk managers.  Registration is required to access this program, either live or on-demand as a recording.
